“ Finally visited for the first time and would say I completely agree with majority of the other reviews. The vibe is old school and the service is friendly and the FOOD is tasty tasty. Simple dog, cheeseburger and fries were delicious. It's cash only and indoor seating is limited but still worth it. I will definitely be looking to return. ”
“ **Cash only** Like most roadstead grease pits, this place keeps it down to earth. No frills, no fuss.. just good food at respectable prices. This place has been on my list for a while and the place was cute - indoor and outdoor seating. Small parking lot but easy enough to make it work. Bathroom outside (same as Hiram's) service was quick and pleasant. The burger was good. Would I say it's the best I've had? Best in NJ? Probably not but by no means was it bad. Smash burger, hand cut friends, crispy onion rings, and a birch beer. For me the start of the show was the hotdog. I got one of the pre-fixed (forgot the name but is up there) with chili, cheese, and fried onions. Honestly, I'd come back for that hotdog and I'd be open to trying their cheesesteak because of it. I have a feeling I'd be more impressed with that than their burger. ”

“ Steve's is legendary here in NJ. On many Best Burger of NJ lists. Great little shack of a road-stand; 1-2 tables inside; a few outside; parking for maybe 10 cars. Burgers, dogs, chicken tenders,. cheese steaks, fries, onion rings, soda, milkshakes...... pretty much covers it. I think I like the chili dogs better. Is it in my Top 3 in NJ? ....no, but definitely a must if your a Foodie. ”
“ What an amazing find! For about $26 we got a bacon cheeseburger, 1/2 cheeseburger, disco fries and onion rings. The patty was nicely seasoned, the burgers were more than filling, and the onion rings were flavorful (not oily). The disco fries were good: the gravy was the star though I would have preferred it being another type of cheese vs melted nacho-like cheese. Street parking behind the shop. A bit of seating inside (about three tables, but you can sit on the counter). Some seating outside too, but be careful with the current heat. Cash only; restroom on premises for customers a plus. “ Today is national Cheeseburger Day so it just made sense to finally check out a spot that followers of the channels have been asking me to go to for over two years now. Made the trip to Steve's Burgers in Garfield, NJ today! Little spot right on 46 with a few tables inside and a few tables outside. It was nice outside so we decided to eat out there. Service was quick and friendly. Two bacon cheeseburgers and two bottles of "Steves" branded soda was exactly $20. This spot is cash only. So a ton of people told me this was the best burger in NJ so I had high hopes going in. The roll was fresh and tasty, quality of the beef was good, and the bacon was ... well ... bacon is never bad is it?! I got mine with lettuce, tomato, and onion and chose not to use any condiments. They did not ask me for a temp on the burger so I assumed they cook them all to well done. This was a really tasty burger. With that said, in my opinion, not the best burger in NJ. I'd absolutely go back and I'd eat this again or try other options, but I've had a lot of great burgers in NJ and this cannot dethrone my current favorite. Still a great lunch regardless.
